Christmas has arrived early! The New York Times as just released their list of the 10 best books of 2008. Apparently I am shamefully behind in my contemporary reading, because I've only read one of them: Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth. I can't feel too bad though, because it means that when I finish the book I'm currently reading (Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms for my lit. class) I'll have 9 more pre-screened, highly recommended books to sink my teeth into. There is no greater joy.
Happy Reading!
Thanks for the link. I do find it a tad disconcerting that three of the nonfiction books are on the subject of war. I might have to add Nothing to be frightened of to my waiting queue of books I have yet to get to. I find it intriguing as the motivation of agnosticism seems to elude many and I am interested that it departs from the "science and mystery" argument.
